"When the Meat Strikes Back"

Protoceratops hellenikorhinus, generic tyrannosaurid. A graphite sketch I did of a mated pair of Protoceratops trying to dispatch a juvenile tyrannosaurid (based on the Raptorex specimen). 

I've had this idea for a few months now and I just decided to sketch it out again, maybe to paint digitally. I've been reading about all the ideas of ceratopsians perhaps being omnivorous, so I thought why not illustrate something along the lines of a ceratopsian hunting another animal, perhaps in a state of desperation? 

I just happened to be sitting in my anthropology of religion class with a copy of All Yesterdays with me and I decided to elaborate a bit more on this idea. It did seem appropriate to the theme of All Yesterdays.

I might work on this one a bit more for a future painting.

Complete on the 10^th of March 2017.

Done using pencils and graphite dust.
