The Roost of a Mongol

Description

"The Roost of a Mongol"

Tarbosaurus bataar. A digital painting of my Tarbosaurus, Khan, resting in a roost of his. Lying in front of him is one of his previous meals, a Tarchia.

I did find some issue with the flexibility of the tail's pose I had come up with, so I consulted with Dr. Thomas Holtz and Scott Hartman on whether the pose was doable or not. Turns out it's feasible for a tetanuran like this to do it (somewhat ironic since Tetanurae means "stiff tails").

This was done around the same time as my other tyrannosaurid painting, August Scars by amorousdino.

Would have finished this sooner but I really wanted to finish up my Poison Ivy piece Who Needs a Hairbrush? by amorousdino, which only took me a day.

Completed on the 25th of July 2014.

Done using pencils and Photoshopt CS6.

As with every tarbo, Khan always has the best do.
