Early Tyrant Head study
Eotyrannus Lengi. A portrait of an early member of the tyrannosaur family. Just over ten feet long, lightly built for speed for the British terrain it inhabited, it was a stepping stone for much later predators that would dominate the Northern Hemisphere.
This piece is really old, I stumbled across it in an old sketch book of mine when exploring my room. I remember working on it back in late 2004 on a flight to New Zealand. It had faded a bit with time so I had to touch it up digitally. I did not have very good source material on this animal at the time so I'm not entirely sure on the Albertosaur like horns above its eyes.
