Zhuchengtyrannus magnus. An airbrush painting of the recently discovered (and huge) tyrannosaur from China. Estimates put this big boy within the same size range of the Mongolian tyrannosaur, Tarbosaurus, and a little smaller than Tyrannosaurus itself. This made it one of the largest known carnivorous theropods, measuring about 11 m - 12m (36 ft - 40ft) in length, 4 metres (13 ft) in height (at the hip) and possibly 5 tons in weight.
I wanted to give it a very oriental dragon sort of look so that was my thinking behind its feathery tail.
This is my second airbrushed paleoart themed painting, the first being
Done using airbrush acrylics and regular acrylics.
Nice work ! You don't see many theropods in a resting position either..I also like the lighting and colors..adds a lot to the overall feel of the piece.
